Grizzard2000 0 Posted June 2, 2009 I had mine in Jan and was anxious but not really nervous. Don't worry its worth it. My surgery went great and I was home in 5 hours. I have now lost 98 pounds and 20 in BMI in just over 4 months. Randy
elcee 3,341 Posted June 2, 2009 It's a dangerous business, going out your door. You step onto the road, and if you don't keep your feet, there's no telling where you might be swept off to. ~ Bilbo Baggins I love it , its so true. MissK 0 Posted June 2, 2009 Being at odds with your friend makes it even harder; I know how important friends are to me. Is it something that you know you guys will get over eventually? If so, why don't you ring her and say "I dont want to argue with you, I dont want to focus on that, you mean the world to me and I really need you". If my friend did that, no matter what we were arguing about, I'd go to her.

funkydm 0 Posted June 3, 2009 Ok so today is 6/3 and believe it or not I am posting this from my hospital bed. It has been 24hrs since the surgery. All is ok!!!! Yeaaay!! So Lindsay here it is from me to you. Ill tell you the story. I showed up on 6/2 at 7AM earlier than what I was supposed to, they did the paperwork and I was upstairs getting into the gown by 720AM. Then they asked a multitude of questions over and over again. Shaved my belly.lol. And then about 745 gave me an injection along with putting an IV on me. The injection was a muscle relaxer. About 8AM they gave me another injection with a blood thinner, in the belly, that kinda hurt, approx 820AM Dr Came in and did final check with me and about 830 they rolled me into the surgery room. They started talking to me and before I knew it I woke up 1hr and half later. A little groggy but ok. Not much pain either, I knew I was sore tho. Also, side note, I had to mess with the DR He asked If I was ok, I told I would be after a Twinkie. All the nurses started going OMG,,I said. Just kidding and they all laughed..the nurses and Dr were great. They took good care of me. The Catheter they put in will make it hard to move at first but once its out your good to go. I have been walking around for awhile now. So thats it in a nutshell. Trust me I feel good, especially knowing that this time next year.. I will be shirtless on the beach..LOL, Well if you have any questions hit me up. Ill be around....lots of luck to those of you who are getting banded soon and thanks to all of those who have come before for all the advice..

Sound like you have a lot of personality and that will help you get through all of the new eating habits that you'll have to pick up. I was banded on Jan 29, 2009. The last time I checked I lost 30lbs. That was about 3 weeks ago. I'm on my third fill and this one is really working for me. It just feel great to start walking into my newness. I wish you well.[/color]

Glad 0 Posted June 4, 2009 Hello! I feel your stress. I finally got my surgery date...July 2nd! I totally panicked once the date was set. Any of us who have gone this far with all of the tests and classes and insurance approval battles, know it is the best decision for us to have a more healthy and productive life. I am sorry about your friend situation. I went through it a year and a half ago. It was very difficult. I still do not speak to my friend. It was my decision and a good one, now looking back. I hope your friend issue works out the way you want it to. Best of luck with your surgery tomorrow! We are all going to be fine!
funkydm 0 Posted June 4, 2009 Ok Lindsay you can do this. Its June 4th. Two days after surgery, Not that hard to follow the diet. I thought it would be harder. I freaked out the Dr when I woke up from surgery. He asked how I felt I said I wanted a twinkie, couldn't help myself, lol, I am all good tho. A little pain or soreness i should say. Surprisingly enough, I havn't taken any pain medication since the hospital yesterday. I even drove myself home. So no worries. You can do it. Hit me up if you have any questions. I'm in bed. Thinking I am gonna milk it. See if all the attention my girl is giving me will keep going. LOL. don't tell.. Ok. anyway. Here is to being thin and walking shirtless on the beach.
