Husband approved!!!

Hi Everyone, I was wondering if anyone has any expirence to share about their spouse now going to be banded? My husband just was approved today. I am very excited for him and I was wondering if anyone would be willing to share the type of support I should offer or more important what not to do.

Hi Katie, my husband was banded in March of this year, almost 1 year exactly after my banding last March. I was very excited when he was approved and hoped it would help re-motivate me but I'm still somewhat struggling with the remotivation part, but I'm still losing slowly but surely.

What I've found out though is that he does NOT like me telling him that he should not drink with his meals and to tell him he shouldn't be eating so much food. He has had 2 fills since being banded on March 17, 2009 and he is scheduled for fill #3 today. He claims he has no restriction and is not full. He gets defensive when I tell him not to drink with his meals so he will be satisfied, so I'm trying hard not to bring it up now. He knows what he should be doing, I want to support him and stand behind him in decisions but it's hard when I know he's not following the bandster rules. I think you'll just have to find out what triggers your husband after he gets banded. I'm sure everybody is different. On a good note, he has lost 50 lbs since surgery but I know he would have lost more if he would follow the bandster rules. Grrrr!!!!

Hi thin2bme, Thank you for sharing your expirence. I am hoping that I do not frustrate him too much. I am worried that I will try to be bossy, not to be mean, but so that he would not have to go through some of the struggles that I had gone through. So I think I am going to practice keeping my mouth shut and only offering advise if he asks. I am going to have to pray a lot to be able to keep my mouth shut. :frown:
