HappyHomeCC 2 Posted June 6, 2009 WOW! I love this thread. Believe me, this thread hits me where it hurts! I have figured out that my fat is my 'parka' to protect me, but I didn't know lots of other people do the same thing. That at least makes me feel a little better. The problem is, I don't know how to get past it. I'm not sure why I always sabotage myself, so I'm trying to find a therapist to help me figure it out. I'm not banded yet, but I can see myself eating again after I've lost some weight. 2 years ago I lost 40lbs, but gained it all back. Hopefully a good therapist will help me. Great thread. Thanks everyone for sharing. Joan I agree Joan it is nice to know we are not alone {{{{{{{{{{{{{}}}}}}}}}}}}} I love this forum in general, Thanks to everyone. COSkinnyGirl 0 Posted June 6, 2009 Ditto on pretty much the entire thread... The surgery doesn't change the way you think, it only changes you physically. If you can afford therapy and are really open to it, do it! It's a luxury and next to the surgery, the best thing I ever did for myself.
cgailsmith 0 Posted June 6, 2009 I would like to attend a weekly or twice monthly, or monthly support group with lab banders in the area. I used to go to OA, but haven't been in a long time. I think a person to person support group would be really cool. What do you think about it?
cgailsmith 0 Posted June 6, 2009 I agree Joan it is nice to know we are not alone {{{{{{{{{{{{{}}}}}}}}}}}}} I love this forum in general, Thanks to everyone.Lor I just posted a response to the thread, but was really intended for Happyhomecc who lives close to me. Has anybody else attended any lapbander support groups? I used to go to OA meetings, and they really did help alot. I haven't been able to afford therapy... HappyHomeCC 2 Posted June 6, 2009 Cgail A friend of mine once told me that Dr Krahns group holds meetings ... but other than that I am not sure of anything local aside from local chapters of OA. If you find something let me know... I will do the same. Have you asked your dr office, I would think they would know.

Krahn's office to make an appointment (when I read your reply). I'll ask when someone gets on the phone with me.

I just found out there is a support group June 25th at 6:30 p.m. at St. Bernardine Hospital at the San Jose Room.
