Hi..glad you are back on track If you don't mind, I have a few questions for you. How were you able to gain weight with a band? How are you now able to lose so much? Is it all about the fills. I was just banded today.

Hi 2911plans,

Congratulations on your surgery I hope u r feeling well

well I lost all that weight in a year I had all my fills and it is all about the fills and not introducing any bad food or drinks to your diet because one u introduce something it gets easier to fall off the wagon and I did everything the way it was suppose to be done except working out, which I recommend everyone to do from the very beginning do as much as u can because u lose so much weight in such a little time.

The way I was able to gain weight was because when I lost all that weight I started eating in a way which abused my band by drinking and eating at the same time and all I ate was fatty and high sugar food and I gained all that weight back very slowly (over 2 years)

Wow! I was not aware you could gain with the band. Thanks for informing me. Did you go back and get a fill to lose again or you decided to eat right again? It is never too late to get healthy. I wish you well.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
