~Michelle~ 0 Posted May 28, 2009 I have been reading so much about different pre-op tests. The only test I have to do it some blood work. No x-rays, or upper GI stuff. Is this normal?
elcee 3,341 Posted May 28, 2009 I am in Aus so things here are a bit different. I had to have a chest X-Ray and a spirometry(lung function ) test. It was decided I didn't need the sleep testing. I see my surgeon this afternoon so not sure what that involves. My op is next Tuesday.
ayyypapi 0 Posted May 28, 2009 I think it depends on your surgeon/doctors and insurance. I have to do the endoscopy, blood work, ekg, echo, stress test, and sleep study. I am not too happy about the sleep study, I have pretty much perfect health (except being overweight of course) and I have no breathing/sleeping problems and he himself even said everything was great but he does the sleep study with everyone regardless. Ugh . If you feel you need to get something checked just ask your surgeon and I am sure he can recommend you but if you don't need it done, then I wouldn't worry about it. I so wish I didn't have to do any of these.
lindas0809 0 Posted May 28, 2009 I just finished my tests today(yea!) I had to get a chest x-ray, blood tests and ekg. This is standard for my hospital, I've read a lot of people have a lot my tests and some have fewer so I think it's totally dictated by your Drs.
