im just on the pre op diet and I find myself weighing once a day. I think im excited and want to see that im going in the right direction. I will have to stop that though becasue it can have a negative affect on my attitude if I dont see a change.

When I'm sticking to a diet, I weigh every morning. When I fall off the wagon, I can go months without weighing. Right now I'm weighing every morning and sighing because I'm in Bandster Hell!!!! :crying: grrrrrr.... (That's me and my stomach making that noise!!!)

I'm right there with you Ann. I weigh everyday. and I am also in Bandster hell, and it s*cks. It's gotten to the point that I get really excited about a 2 oz weight loss, even though the whole number hasn't changed. I have been at this weight for two weeks now. UGH!!!!!!

I weigh myself every morning, after I go to the bathroom, after I get out of the shower, before I go to bed, and even after sex.

I dont think weighing in multiple times a day is a bad thing, I can keep track of what works for me and what doesn't. If I go a week or two without weighing myself and if I gain weight I will not know what caused it.

I am used to doing it this way, as I was a wrestler and boxer and had to make weight. I learned by weighing myself multiple times daily what I could eat and couldn't to make my weight class.

I weigh myself daily when I'm "on track" and expecting to see good results. I don't get discouraged if it doesn't move every day, though, so it's not a bad obsession.

What I find is that in the periods where I'm NOT stepping on the scale, it's because I know I'm off the wagon - I know that the numbers will go up and I'm sort of in denial about it. (Well, not really in denial, but not wanting to face it in terms of the realities of the numbers).

I'm A-OK with weighing every morning.

I used to be like that (weighing all day, every day) until I had my surgery (1 year ago). At that time I promised myself I would only weigh at my monthly Doctor appts. I have kept that promise. I'm glad I did. It is much less frustrating for me. I'm now at goal (actually less than goal) and have just now bought a new digital scale to weigh on weekly. (because I now only have to see the doctor every 2 months and want to keep a closer eye on my weight).

I know myself, and I get too obsessed with the numbers, so weighing myself daily is just toooo much for me.

To each his own. Do what works for you.

I did that on my pre op diet. It got so bad, that when I had my surgery last week, I asked my sister to hide my scale from me until Monday mornings. That's when I will weigh myself from now on. Otherwise, I'd be on it every hour!

I guess if you don't get upset by what you see maybe its ok to weigh all the time. But if it ruins your mood maybe find a trusted soul to keep it except one a week. I am also a scale whore and I'm thinking about asking my DH to keep it somewhere I cant find it because I do get kind of ruined if it goes up a pound from day to day even though I know its meaningless...probably just too much salt on the rim of the glass the night before!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
