phenry 0 Posted May 27, 2009 My surgeon has ordered ten days of injections that I do at home for blood clots after lapband surgery. I haven't read about these on any of the posts before. Has anyone else had these? Are they hard to give?

Has anyone else had these? Are they hard to give? Phenry How's everything? I think this is standard for Norton surgeons I had to do them, it was no big deal I was so afraide to do them the nurse from my insurance company was trying to get me home health care to help but that didn't work out. they are not hard to give they are ready filled you just remove the cap do the injection the needle goes back in to the thing and you put it in a sharps contianer that they will give you when you are released fromt he hospital. If I can do it anyone can.
phenry 0 Posted May 27, 2009 Hi JayTee! I am over my concerns with Dr. Shina. This is just one more thing that he does to make me think he takes every precaution. Glad to know the shots are easy. I guess if your tummy is sore from incisions anyway, whats another mosquito bite sting going to do. I only have one more step before all surgery clearances are done. I need a ...esophagogastroduodenoscopy. Basically a camera down the throat. That comes 6 days before surgery. I want to go out and stock up on Protein stuff, but also want to make sure I am getting the surgery first. Looks like your weightloss is going well. Any problem foods yet? JayTee562 1 Posted May 27, 2009 Not to much problems with food I got stuck once I was on the road traveling back from Ohio stopped and got a couple of chicken strips at a couple bites of the first one and it got stuck I drank some Water everything came up after about 20 mins and I was fine. I prepared for a full liquid diet and was put on clear liquesd my first 2 weeks after surgery so a lot of the stuff I got wasn't used. For Protein Shakes I'm using Body Fortress from Wal-Mart (to mix wiht milk) and I got Isopure Alpine Punch from GNC (for clear liquid stages). Got my first fill last Tuesday it went well he didn't put in as much as he had planned he was going to do 4cc but I ended up with 3cc.
