What brands of unflavored Protein do you like? Where do you buy it and how much does it cost? How do you use it?

Thank you!

I just got Designer whey unflavored powder at the Vitamin Shoppe for $20 for a big 2 lb tub. It doesn't have much of a smell, which is good. I can still "taste" it in stuff a little- but I'm picky. I plan on adding it to crystal light when I'm post op.

I don't use any Protein powders/supplements. I did try them at first, but now I found that I can get my 60g. a day in without using all that stuff. It is expensive and I think even the unflavored ones have a taste. There are lots of them out there. Good luck!! Becky

If you want to add Protein to COLD things, try egg whites. You can get the next to the egg beaters in the cold section of your grocery.

it is 25 calories/5 Proteins per serving.

I add it to my carnation drink and to cottage cheese (i put mine in the food processor because i don't like the texture of CC) and it does not change the taste at all.

I *think* i pay 1.74 for a pint.

I'm allergic to artificial sweetners and most Protein drinks contain some type of them, so i use the egg whites and it's worked out great!

I purchased the Trader's Joe unflavored Protein and it is nasty.

I tried to add to Decaf iced tea and it was so bad, I tossed it.

I'm going to try in hot tea, maybe that will be better.

Buy discount Protein, Vitamins, sports supplements at NutraBio.com.

I buy the 5lb unflavored, which lasts a long time. What I like best is that this is the only company that was able to assure me that their whey Protein isolate was made in United States from American cow milk.

Protein ISOLATE is the best quality and most absorbable form of protein.

The unflavored whey protein does have a powdered milk tasted (kind of like coffee creamer), but I like it. I add it to a cup of skim milk with half a banana or 1/2 cup berries and whirr it in the blender. I also make a Protein shake by adding it to the no sugar added Instant Breakfast with my blender. whey isolate can also be added to cream Soups, your morning coffee, mixed with milk and poured over Cereal, added to scrambled eggs.

What I do now, 5 weeks post-op, is wait until after dinner. If I didn't get my 60grms of protein, I'll use the Protein Powder to supplement my day's intake, which also curbs before bed hunger. When I'm rushed for time and can't eat Breakfast, then I begin the day with an Instant Breakfast Protein Shake.< /p>

Hope this helps!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
