Brazillian Waxing

Recommended Posts

Just curious, how many of you have had this done. I am wondering, in comparison to having my eyebrows and upper lip waxed, what is the level of pain?

**LOL**

susan, i won't lie it hurts.....my eyebrows never have though.

you want to make sure you go to someone who has been doing it a while.....a slip up of wax a further bit south could lead to problems (ie - bathroom):ohmy:

the good thing - it lasts a LONG time before hair grows back & it grows in less.

It scares me to death, yet I am definitely thinking about having done. Does it help to have a couple drinks first to relax you?

I have only waxed my eyebrows and upper lip once because it hurt so much...but I get my Brazilian wax once a month  I guess everybody's different...

I go every 4 weeks! They can wax down there all they want, but touch my upper lip and all hell will break loose!

Of course, they make "No scream" cream to put down there to numb the area. You put it on a half hour before and you're good to go!

I did a brazillian wax about 2 months ago for the first time. It was quite painful however after I weighed the pros and cons, I was very happy with the results. The cons list was much shorter than the Pros. I am more than willing to go thru the pain every so often to achieve the results. I am going to take tylenol before my next appointment to see if that helps with the pain.

I have heard that the "no scream cream" doesn't work so great. I think I would be willing to try it though.

I say go for it.

I get my eyebrows waxed and I dont think it hurts. I want to punch the woman when she plucks though, I HATE that bit.

My upper lip - cant stand it. Hurts too much. Have a red moustache mark for days. Dont have much hair there anyway, only if I wear dark make up and I barely ever wear make up, so I dont care.

Brazillian - no thanks.

I get mine done every 3 to 4 weeks. Have a couple glasses of wine first! It's not that bad, it's way worth it and makes you feel cleaner and sexier! My husband loves it!

Not a chance! I'm sitting with my legs crossed and tightly clenched just reading this thread!

Yes it hurts, but so worth it!! MUCH easier the second time around (and easier each time) as the hair is thinner and sparser each time.

Thanks for the reminder! *goes to book her next appointment*

Well, I think I am going to give it a try. I may do a couple of glasses of wine and tylenol first, lol. I just have to find where to go in my area.

I am not sure if it is the norm to do "sugar waxing" but that's what I had done and it wasn't so bad. So, I recommend it. I couldn't imagine having the regular waxing done down there! OUCH! Lip is much worse for me.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
