I think you have the start of a good stand-up routine here. If you decide to go that way, I'll buy a ticket. :)

you know, I have been thinking to myself after being on the site for a while, there is more politically correct posturing going on here than at the democratic national convention. Almost every post has an a caveat that equates to "dont bitch slap me for this". I cant possibly be bothered to make sure I don't offend anyone. What would be the point anyway, offended people are often the most hysterical.

I welcome some down to earth common sense anytime!

I agree. This is why I don't post much. It seemed that every time I posted and gave an opinion if I did not include "MAKE SURE YOU CHECK WITH YOUR DOCTOR" I would get slapped. I even thought about putting "MAKE SURE YOU CHECK WITH YOUR DOCTOR" in my signature so that I would not have to say it all the time.

Oh by the way "MAKE SURE YOU CHECK WITH YOUR DOCTOR"

well I can see that sometimes a person can over react and others underreact but for the most part one must take accountability for there own actions and a forum is for support and some sort of direction. If you are throwing up 3 times a day see your Doc!!! that is common sence. good grief. I love the post that started this thread.

"Mother of GOD!! You must call your surgeon immediately.. My band slipped all the way down to my rectum and fell out, got caught on my ankle, made me trip and they had to do sixteen hours of surgery just to disentangle my port tubing from my ass"

ROFLMAO:lol::):lol:

too funny! :)

I think we need a sense of humor to deal with life! I have surgery June 8th, I'll have to watch out for the ankle slippage and port-in-the-ass entanglement! :cool:

      Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
      1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

        All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
