jqpublic 1 Posted September 11, 2005 I, had talked with my Well trusted Doctor, about kids and exercise. She told me that it is a great thing. So for the last year I have had my kids doing push ups & sit ups no more then forty Or what they felt up to doing! HOW,EVER ON WEIGHT TRAINING: you real have to be careful because all kidds are growing and to much could cause them problems with like there groth plates...and tearing muscles. My kids do 3 sets 10 reps with 3 to five pounds of weight. I don,t push my kids to exercise but ask them to try and eat health stay focused on there own health. Well take care god bless! Jachut 487 Posted September 11, 2005 I make sure my kids get lots of exercise, with the distractions of computer and television that's hard these days. We walk to school a few days a week, that's about 3kms for them, 6 for me. They play basketball once per week and have basketball training once per week, both also play Australian Rules Football weekly and have 2 training sessions for that, after school they're sent outside to play, thank goodness we live in a newish suburb that's very safe and there's loads and loads of kids around so they have the kind of childhood I had - running round outside, riding bikes and rollerblades, etc. At school they have PE once a week and the school runs lunchtime sport competitions so lunchtime is usually spent playing football and basketball too. Lately they've also been going on Thursday nights to a session run at my gym for kids, mainly because that means I can go workout while they're taken care of. So all in all that's plenty. I have a morbid fear of raising obese children.
