I will maybe be relocating to Illinois soon from Ohio and want to find a Dr. there who does lap-band to continue my care with. Do any of you know anyone to suggest. Thanks, Nancy

I had my surgery on July 28th and I just changed doctors, it's a long story. I love the new group, they are willing to bill my insurance for my fills, and if you had surgery somewhere else they still charge the same as they do for their patients. Here is the info for them, they are about an hour from rockford. They are southeast (I think, I know they are south), and located in a really nice hospital. I saw them yesterday and I am getting my first fill next week, I can't wait. At my first visit the doctor spend almost 30 mins in the room with me answering all of my questions and then said he was glad to have me abord with thier team. I have found my follow-up doc. Just make sure you get your surgical records from the original surgeon. ~Mandy

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
