I had my surgery 4 days ago and I burp and pass gass a lot. The burping really hurts. A lot. very uncomfortable. Good Luck. Good to see your doing well. I was so hungry today I actually purchsed food. I was too scared to eat it and threw it away. Very scary. I hope I can do this.

Congrats on your band, I was banded on April 15th. And I haven't had a fill yet either... It's scary because I've been able to eat a lot more, than when I was first banded, but of course I'm still skeptical and taking it easy.. But what really scared me was, I was able to eat a crossiant sandwhich on yesterday, a whole one, I called the dr's office and asked could I come in sooner to get a fill, which my first fill is scheduled for June 11th. From what I've been reading that's the reasons for the fill, I haven't been as hungry as I was before, but I defintely understand where divaondean mentioned on her comment.. Hang in there we will all get through this together, it's so helpful reading everyone elses comments, that lets me know I'm not in this alone... divaondean hang in there be encouraged, I'm glad you didn't eat that food, it's defintely to early for you, hang in there. everytime I eat I burp for like an hr, it' doesn't hurt though, and I had vomited yet, thank God I'm so scared to, and I pray it never happens, I had a minor eposide the first week into the surgery eating a popscile, it came up a little but other than that, I've been fine. Keep me updated...

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
