Dr. Adam Glasgow - Dr. Adam Glasgow is Great!

Recommended Posts

Hello there ladies,

I am set be banded on 6/29/10. Just wondering how the support group is? I've never been to one, but I would love to go and see what its all about. Is it just an open forum or is it more structured? Any info would be awesome!

~Kelly

Kelly:

Their support group is primarily informal. He usually has everyone introduce themselves, then has the nutritionist (or sometimes other invited guest) do their speal, and then the floor is open to questions/concerns/comments.

I hope to see you there.

Take care.

Sue

Love Adam! I went to his office in January 2012 for an info session and on August 2 had my surgery. Never needed to research any other doctors. He is located in my home town and it is so convenient. I love everyone in his office and attend all his free classes and support groups.

Have the 2013 support group dates been announced yet? I am being banded on 1/31 and would like to get to one if possible before my surgery.

Hello Dolphintattoo:

You can go to his website and see the schedule. I believe that the first meeting is 1/3/13. His website is www.massweightloss.com

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
