Daisydoodle returns...

This is the longest I've ever stayed away from the board since banding. I guess I've come back now because I need the support that I've received in the past now more than ever.

I was trucking along with my little band pregnancy and everything was going great. We even had an ultrasound and saw the heartbeat. That was awesome. I had maintained my weight so far and had every reason to be so estatic about this whole experience.

This past Monday morning I woke up cramping and bleeding. I went to the ER and found out that I was miscarrying. I was at 10 weeks. I'm devastated. Even though I know this is God's way of taking care of things that probably weren't right, I am having a terrible time dealing with this. I feel such a loss. I want our baby back. I loved feeling pregnant. I feel like someone took something away that belonged to me. My husband has been wonderful. He's been very comforting and loving and has even let me use him as a punching bag a time or two.

I try to stay positive and think to the future and that we'll get another chance. But every ounce of me is greiving for this child that I had already fallen in love with inside of me.

Sorry to be such a downer...

Aw Nicole, I'm sitting here crying for you now. I'm so so sorry.

Please know that lots and lots of women miscarry their first pregnancy. I know that doesn't make this any easier for you, and it isn't meant to comfort you, so much as it's meant to give you hope for your next pregnancy.

You will never forget that little life that was inside you, gone so young, yet so real and ever meaningful in just 10 little weeks. What a powerful tiny one, to have meant so much. Grieve, and know that it will be better in time. For right now, though, I'm really really sorry. {{{{{{{{{HUGS}}}}}}}}}

Oh Nicole I am so sorry for you. I have been through 4 miscarriages myself and I know exactly how you feel inside right now.

Please allow yourself to grieve through this and to give yourself the time to heal emotionally and physically.

I am here if you ever need me. If you'd like someone to talk to please feel free to PM me anytime. I'll also PM you my home phone number too, and you can call me ANYTIME.

I very much suggest the book called, "Grieving The Child I Never Knew" by Kathy Wunnerberg. It helped me get through the process of grieving, and it helped give me the hope that I so desperately needed.

I'm here if you need me. Much love to you and your husband.

~Kelly

I'm so sorry. I think the loss is as great as a child that has been born. Your dreams and hopes for your child are real, and you will have to grieve the loss of those hopes and dreams. Yet, there are limitless hopes and dreams to be had, and there will be more. (((((Squeeze)))))). There, there, I'm so sorry.

Aw Nicole I am hurting for you. I never had to face a miscarriage with all my pregnancies. If I had I would have been devastated much like you are now. I won't lie and say it will get better but know that in time you will come to accept what has happened and move on. Some part of you will always want that baby back it is normal to feel that way. I will keep you and your family in my prayers.

Nicole, I'm sending you some big hugs and kisses. I've had 2 miscarriages and I find comfort in knowing that they are playing with my Lord & Savior, Jesus. I was in my 20's with the first and in my 30's with the second. After the one in my 30's we tried 3 months later like the doctor said to do and bam !!! I got pregnant again.

Hang in there sweetheart, there is always Hope and I'm sure great things will come to you.

Eileen

(((hugs)))

awe Nicole, I wish there was something I could say or do to make this better. Like Penni and many others, I have never had to experience this sorrow.

I hope you find the slightest bit of consolation in knowing you have a perfectly beautiful soul sitting at our Father's right hand recommending you and hubby to His grace and mercy.

From my heart, I pray for you...

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
