msdollaz 0 Posted May 22, 2009 Hi - I got banded 9 days ago and I'm still having a considerable amount of gas pain. Did other people have this? I have stopped having milk based Protein Shakes and I'm just on the lactose free kind now - 5 a day. I called my doctor this morning and she said to cut the Protein shakes in half and try having some Soups like chicken noodle. I've been taking 2 gas-x per day and it helps a little bit. Also, how long after surgery are you sore for - weeks or months??
ParrotheadCathy 0 Posted May 22, 2009 Use a heating pad over any area that hurts. Gas-X won't do a thing for gas that isn't in your GI tract. Moving around also helps trememdously. I read a post on one forum where a woman said her doctor suggested she sit in a rocking chair and rock and that she would find that helped as well. I doubt it's lactose-related unless you had lactose intolerance BEFORE surgery. It's more likely just the gas that most of us have suffered from.
fakeDIY 0 Posted May 22, 2009 I had horrible gas pains yesterday. Try taking deep breaths in through your nose and let them out through your mouth. It helped to ease my pains a little bit!
TwilightLover83 0 Posted May 22, 2009 Walk Walk Walk...Move Move Move... it's more than likely from surgery. I remember mine hurt so bad, it would wake me up. Sucks to say but if it is the gas from the surgery you pretty much have to deal with em.
texasweb 0 Posted May 22, 2009 Walking is the best thing. More you walk, the better it is for you.
