Ok... so for the last few days, it feels like there's something on my chest. I can hardly get a full breath in, and it hurts if i hiccup. Is this tightness normal? Will it go away?

Also, I tried exercise (walking) for the first time today. I could only do ten minutes because of the horrible pain in my stomach. It felt like the stitches were ripping. Is that normal? Is something wrong? Let me know if you've had any problems like this.

How full is your band? Are you getting a sick or anything? Sometimes when you get sick it feels like your band is much tighter.

I notice that you are just banded. While the healing process is going on you will probably feel different things. When I came out of surgery I was fine the first night. The next day it felt like they had put a jar ring around my stomach. I hurt in the front and the back and it wasn't gas pains. So I hunkered down and stayed one more day and let them give me the good pain meds. After that when I would have some discomfort I would take liquid Tylenol. Providing you're not eating what you shouldn't it is probably nothing. But never hesitate to contact your surgeon. If there is nothing wrong, you'll quit worrying. If there is, he/she needs to know.

I think the tight feeling in your chest sounds somewhat normal for being less than a week out from banding. However, it is impossible to tell if it is the same as what I felt or something different from just a post.

I was walking the next day after banding but was definitely a little sore. I just didn't go very far or for very long and stopped when I became uncomfortable.

If you are concerned you should call your doctor. Everyone heals differently and it is best to keep the doctor informed just in case there is an issue. Good luck and keep us posted.

It's probably normal but call your doctor to be sure.

I was banded on the 7th, and was fine for three days. Come day four, THAT's when I was attacked by the gas pain. Instead of having the gas move up through my left side and sit at my shoulders, it decided it was going to stay lower, closer to my abdomen. It took me a day or so to figure out that's what it was. I thought I had not been doing my breathing treatments enough (or something like that), and that I possibly had a collapsed lung, because I just could NOT take a deep breath (the pain was all on my left side). I had a nurse friend take a look, and he helped me figure out that it was the gas, and it was preventing me taking that deep breath that I wanted without some pain.

It wasn't till about two days ago that it finally started to subside for me...and today I'm almost there...best thing I could do was walk it off...nothing else seemed to help.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
