What and how much do you eat in a day?

I will get my first fill today. After that I have to be on liquid for 2 days and mushy until I feel ok eating solid. My band date was April 21st. I have not lost any weight in 3 weeks, so I am worried that I may not eat the right food. I am going ask the doctor to talk to the dietitian too and hopefully she can help me out better than the last time :smile:

If you don't mind could you please share with me what and how much you normally eat each day.

It's not that unusual to not lose anything between surgery and when you start getting fills....or just lose a small amount. Your first fill probably won't get you close to your sweet spot, but you're officially on your way there. I just got my 4th fill earlier this week (Mon.) and I have reached my sweet spot.

3 meals a day of lean Protein (3 oz., looks like about the same size as a deck of cards), steamed or raw veggies (watch the raw stuff because if you don't chew it really well, it can stick even if you have only minimum restriction). I was told to wait 15 minutes. If I still felt hungry, I could have a serving of whole grain carbs. Until you reach your sweet spot, a meal likely will not stave off hunger for 4 hours (which is the goal, a minimum of 4 hours). I was told to eat a snack of low fat Protein, such as a boiled egg, an ounce of low fat cheese, 1/2 cup low fat cottage cheese, etc. I have even used a few leftover steamed shrimp as a snack.

For Breakfast, when I'm always in a hurry, I just drink a Slim Fast Low Carb Diet. This one specifically. It has 20 grams of proten and 2 net grams of carbs. They make several varieties, so look for the boxes clearly marked Low Carb Diet if you choose to use these.

For lunch I usually have Soup and some low fat cheese.

I cook dinner for my family. Often fish, since we all like it, but pork, beef and chicken are all on the menu.

It's not unusual to see a small or no weight loss the few weeks after surgery, your healing. I have had my 6th fill, and not reached my sweet spot yet. I am close maybe one more fill. I eat very small bites. I also use a smaller salad plate instead of a dinner plate. It helps.

I eat 3 meals a day...breakfast is a must. Always have some Protein for Breakfast. Scrambled eggbeaters are good. I add an oz. of fat free cheddar cheese and make an omelet. I also have one piece of weight watchers or similar low carb whole wheat bread with just a smear of Smart Balance on it.

I have fruit for snack around 11:00 pm

and a light lunch of a salad with Protein veggies and Walden Farms no calorie dressing.

dinner 3 oz of protein like lean steak, or chicken with veggies and a small baked potato if I can eat it...sometimes can't I am full then I save it.

Snack one serving of sugar free pudding 60 calories or a 100 calorie ic cream snack when it's hot out.

I write down what I eat and stay within the 100-1200 calorie a day most of the time.

I walk 20-30 min a day.

Swimming in our pool when it opens in a week or so.

I do Water aerobics too.

I hope to get the last 29 lbs. off by the end of August just past my one year anniversary.

early on - i really limited my carbs and i'm not sure if that's why i was a slow loser in the beginning or i was just lucky:rolleyes:

i try to cook as many meals possible on sundays & have my house fully stocked w/good Snacks, fruits & veggies to pick on. i found if it's not in the house - i don't eat the crap (husband is also banded).

till this day i still eat off a salad plate, it more than holds all i need to eat to keep me satisfied.....

i really eat what i'm in the mood for these days - for example:

Breakfast - WW toast w/cream cheese & smoked salmon / Tomato, hummus & veggies, organic waffle w/peanut butter, greek yogurt w/fiber one Cereal, veggie black bean burger w/pico de gallo.....etc.

lunch - egg/chicken salad in lettuce cups, sushi, Soups such as lentil / white bean chili, salads.

diner - i like to have some type of Protein w/veggies & carbs (good ones) or a salad loaded w/all the "good stuff"....i do splurge & have Pasta & mexican food occassionally.

Snacks - cheese, edamame, nuts, greek yogurt, fruit.< /p>

i exercise 5 days a wk - some days harder than others & i've realized on the hard days ... i will eat more.

      Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

        Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...
