fill provider, Coventry area????

Recommended Posts

Hi,

my wife is going to belgium in a couple of weeks to have lap band fitted.

My question is that we do not seem to be able to find a list of fill providers near to Coventry, UK for when she gets back?

Anyone able to help?

Stephen

I live in Wolverhampton and I had my op done in Bromsgrove (Dolan Park). I also go there for my fills. If she can't find fill providers in Coventry there is lots of providers around Birmingham and in Leamington Spa

It's actually Droitwich Spa not Leamington Spa, sorry, my mistake. I don't know if it's nearer to you than Birmingham. Their website is www.bmihealthcare.co.uk. The one I go to (Dolan Park, Worcestershire) is www.wiseaftercare.org. In Birmingham checkout www.wlsgroup.co.uk. The wlsgroup have some good packages they are offering at the mo. Hope this helps.

Hi

thanks for the info. The WLS group in birmingham are the closest. I called them and they are offering 12 months unlimited fills for £700. Does that sound good?

She is having the operation next week in Belgium. How soon after the operation does she need to have a fill do you know?

thanks

Stephen

It depends on what her surgeon says . I had my first fill at abt 7wks. I have been paying for my fills as and when I needed them. It's not very easy to say whether £700 for 1yr is ok or not coz it depends on how many fills she will need. For some pple it takes just 1 fill to get good restriction yet for some it can take more than 6. So it's really hard for me to say

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
