Hello fellow bandsters!

I am a first time poster today-- I am really struggling. I have recently begun working with a trainer, I for the most part get my Protein in as well as my water-- but I am stuck right around 230-240. I was banded August 27, 2008-- I see my doc on Thursday for another fill or to let some out I'm just not budging. I am going to restart journaling again-- to see where I am messing up--I was just wondering if anyone else is struggling like me or if anyone had thoughts or suggestions.

Thanks

You are headed in the right direction by exercising. It really will get your metabolizing going. Always stick to the basic rules and you will be fine. Protein first, no drinking with eating etc. I still and probably always will log my food for the day. It is so easy to kid ourselves into eating extra calories that slip through the band. I use livestrong.com- daily plate. It has just about everything and every brand in their data base. Above all do not give up! Good luck and let us know how you progress.

I am struggling too. I am going through a divorce, and it seems the stress makes it harder to eat the right stuff. I can tolerate veggies, but not meat, so I do that. I always get my Protein Shakes in, so I make that quota daily. I also do a spin class at least once a week, but I am stuck to where I was right after surgery. I don't want another fill since I can't get much down now. So I guess journaling food intake is the best way to see where we're going wrong. I am trying not to beat myself up with all that I am going through right now, figuring once the stress passes, I can deal with more of the food issues. But it would be nice to see the scale move below 200! I am not where I hoped I would be for the summer bathing suit season!

For the person above this post...If you cant eat meat you too tight....Using Protein Shakes to get your Protein is not a good thing...Animal protein is the way to go....I suggest actually getting a slight unfill. Eating meat should not be an issue. Make sure your eating enough...every 3 hours is what I do....You might just be in starvation mode thats why weight loss is slow on non-existant.....I also eat when I am stressed but change things up...try hitting the gym instead...good luck

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
