1st day of liquid diet

Recommended Posts

Ok so I just started my liquid diet today and I really didn't think it would be this hard. I didn't think I would feel as hungry as I am. I don't know why since I have gone from eating begals and Breakfast sandwhichs to liquids. LOL. But I know I can do it, I have support and I am not doing anything to mess this up I have waited to long to mess it up now. I will try some Soup for lunch maybe that will help. :purplebananna: Here is wishing me luck!

Try drinking Water in between "meals" - it really helps to fill you up, or at least take away the gnawing feeling. I haven't had my surgery yet; however, I have been on liquid diets before. Hot tea (herbal, if you can't have the caffeine) helps, too. GOOD LUCK - YOu CAN DO THIS!!!!

Hey,

Thanks everyone for your thoughts and support. I am trying to keep my motivation up by looking at all the new cute clothes I will be able to buy next year. I can not wait to be able to go shopping at a normal store and to walk up stairs without getting out of breath and to be able to run around with my 2 yr old daughter for more then 5 min. I am so excited for this journey and I know it will all be worth it. Thank you again

i'm on 2nd day of two-week post-op. So right there with you. So far not too much hunger, a headache when I woke up but think that's from sodium from chicken broth.

Just hang in there.

Trisha

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
