Dr. Nicole White - She is wonderful!

Recommended Posts

If there is anyone out there unsure of getting the band or has questions Dr. White is wonderful. I was so unsure of getting in an met her over a year before my surgery. She never pushed...When I was ready I went to her and she is AMAZING. So kind and caring and always willing to help during the ups and downs.

I was banded 04/03/09 and have been doing great. The office staff is so caring and happy to see you and the progress you've made.

I highly recommend Dr. White and her staff to anyone considering lap band surgery in the Northwest!!

I have a question about this doctor. I'm thinking about going to her. I've looked around at some of the different surgeons in Seattle. Like the Swedish hospital requires you to do all these diets before you can be consider for lap band. Did you had to do anything before you do this proceture with her that's required?

Every dr is different on what they require. I have very good insurance and relaxed insurance, so I didn't have to go through none of the pre-surgery diets, except the 2 week pre-op diet to shrink the liver, I lost 14lbs on the diet, yay. It mostly depends on your insurance co is what needs to happen. There are some standard testings that has to happen to make sure you are upto the surgery and after the surgery. Dr. White is a GREAT dr. I recommend her. She is there for you wether you got a small or big question, her staff is great, they know you by name, most of the staff when you talk to them seems like you known them forever how they make you feel. She is a great dr and her staff is just as great.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
