Brian...If you think I'm the band Nazi, well right back at ya! No name calling please. (If you didn't mean me, then never mind! LOL)

The point I was trying to make is that with the band it becomes more important to try to choose healthy stuff (quality over quantity) not that anyone will go to Hell for eating pizza. Obviously I didn't get up to 405 by eating carrots and sprouts all day.

I got the band because I want to eat "normally" like other people. Most people I know don't eat only carrots and sprouts all the time either. But for most of us, we have to think and choose. I was told that the band will work if I make healthy choices. I don't know what your doc told you. I am a firm believer as I said that to think you'll NEVER have pizza again (assuming you like it in the first place) is assinine. Most of us can't consistently eat pizza and lose, however. If you can then more power to you and I mean that with all my heart! Lucky you!

I've eaten a hamburger (or at least part of one) post banding, too. And I haven't lost that well, as you can see from my stats.

The bottom line is I think we all have to work the band the best way we see fit.

Yes, I was calling you a band nazi. I apologize, no, not really. I do take the nazi part back though, I think hypocrite is more fitting.

I mean I can see if you were the band king/queen, but you're not. And as you pointed out you haven't done well with you band. So, don't spout hypocritical advice, don't do this, don't do that, you shouldn't do this, etc. when you obviously don't follew the advice your self.

Reminds me a politican, family values, yadda, yadda, yadda, then they caught with a mistress and kid. Say one thing do another. So I do apologize for the nazi, I ment hypocrite.

Anyway, have a good day.

Geez dude you can't even read. I didn't tell her not to eat pizza and I'm not hypocritical...you wouldn't know how I'm doing on the band if I didn't put it out there for everyone to see! Someone must have messed in your cocoa puffs or something. Chill out.

I hate it when someone says, "you shouldn't be eating bread", "you shouldn't be eating potatos", etc. etc. etc.

If you can get it down, go for it. I may only be able to get half a piece of pizza down now, but that makes me want to enjoy my food more.

I don't eat very much anymore so I damn sure goint to enjoy what I'm eating.

we had a BBQ with my folks last night, and I had a hamburger, on a bun, GASP!!! I;m sure the band nazi and shocked. I ate slow and chewed really well and no problem, well didn't exaclly go slide right down but I didn't get stuck either. I was as satisfied as I was in the old days when I would have eatn 5 hamburgers.

So to any band nazi that tells you, you can't eat rice, bread, tell them to go to hell.

I can't eat everything I used to love to eat, but I'm ok with that. Some stuff is just to big a pain in the ass to try to eat.

Sorry to ramble, but I hate the "you shouldn't..." band nazis. If your band in adjusted right, eath whatever you will enjoy, cause you won't be able to eat much.

If you are wondering if you need a fill, you need a fill. I was in bandster limbo trying to get some restriction. I had six or seven fills before I got any. I thought for months, is this what I;m supposed to be feeling, is this restricion. Trust me, when you get there you will know.

brian

Everyone finds out quick enough what they shouldn't eat due to it not going down well for them, and I'm sure most never try it a second time unless they enjoy pain.

Ice cream, Cookies, and other junk that shouldn't be eaten, but does go down easy, should be a deterrent enough when one steps on the scale!!

Sure is a deterrent. Although, I'm not one to say that I can never ever have something that's not really nutritious again. I do have something once every week or two, otherwise I'd go crazy and eat a whole bag of chips or something. But that's just me of course.

I have an ice cream cone at least once a week (small!!). At least it's made with milk or cream right? LOL

Exactly! I'll have a dessert shooter or something at applebees. I remember my uncle was like "can you eat that?!" and I said "it's healthy! it's made with milk! protein!" It's far better than sitting at home and eating a pint of Ben and Jerry's chunky monkey.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
