ShelleyB 2 Posted May 28, 2009 I think SunnyRachel summed it up quite nicely! Totally agree! BethfromVA - Why do you continue to read these posts if you don't like what Dr. V has to say and thinks he is "off"? Just wondering?!!
luluc 6 Posted May 28, 2009 How do you also get over the fear of trying a food again once it's caused you pain the first time? It's so hard to tell whether you've chewed something enough. I think the biggest challenge though is all in the mind.? i really enjoyed your post and you make some wonderful points about being "scared" of certain foods. i remember that i was done w/my post op diet right before thanksgiving & was petrified to eat anything but mushy food still. the good news is that your not very likely to "break" the band after your healed - but your right the mind "won't" allow you to try for fear.....i get that! i ate so many eggs/cottage cheese early out that i have bought containers of cottage cheese & have tossed them for going bad - just can't bring myself to eat "early" out foods because i killed it w/repetition. i would just try new foods each/every day. some may work one day but not another - band is just fickle that way.....so don't write off anything until your experiences are many w/certain foods. Thank you! I think that's exactly it...one day it's good, and the next day that same food can be bad. Someone needs to make that a sticky in the FAQs.
