I am in Brooklyn. I am willing to go anywhere in Brooklyn and Staten Island. I like to stay away from Long Island, Queens, and Manhattan.

I would appreciate your help. I am very anxious and eager to know more about this, but at the same time, i have to go with my Budget. Is there any clauses that i should know about?

Again, i appreciate your help. Thank you.:rolleyes2:

If you decide to do Manhattan, I self-paid with NYU Surgical Weight Loss, Dr. Fielding. He is fabulous, and I couldn't recommend them more. They also tell you if there are any studies that you can sign up for, which often pay for part or all of the band (I wasn't eligible for any). But I was able to do outpatient surgery, which saved a lot of money and the practice has offices in Brooklyn for pre and post-op meetings. Fills are $125, but if you self-pay, all fills are covered for the first year after surgery.

Thank you, Self pay must be tough, especially in this economy that we live in. I appreciate your help. Thanks:biggrin:

Dr. Fielding is in with my daughter's doctor, Dr. Kurian, who she loves. Although my daughter had to self-pay and went to houston with Dr. Spivak, but because Kurian knew Spivak's reputation, she agreed to do her follow up. Lisa loves loves loves the guy in that clinic that does the fills. Says it's five mins and can barely feel anything.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
