ebonysilk 0 Posted September 8, 2005 monday 9/12 is band day. Right now I am starving, as well as nervous. Today I"ve been reading the threads. Someone posted that they was having so many problems with their fill. These fill stories begin me to worry. When should I begin to worry about my fill? Will my band be filled after surgery or when? My hunger is so overwhelming right now. What can you do to ride this liquid storm over. My dietician have informed me to add Jello and pudding in to my diet, but my gluclose is still dropping at nite. I hope I am not to weak on monday, for the surgery. If anyone have any answers, or thoughts on the starvation, and fills please respond soon. In Nedd of Answers.
divaliciousdee 0 Posted September 8, 2005 Ebony my doctor will not think about a fill until I am post op 6 weeks. He leaves the band unfilled at the time of surgery. Some people can lose just with the band, he says. I have heard that some doctors put in about 1cc at the time of surgery. It just depends on your doctor. liquids were hell for me as you know but I honestly did really well for the first week. Maybe you need to tell your dietician all of these concerns and if you still feel you are getting nowhere consult your surgeon. Call now or 2morrow!
vinesqueen 2 Posted September 8, 2005 Hi Ebony. You haven't been banded yet, so have something to eat. If you are truly weak from hunger then you probably need to eat something. Or at the very least, add another Protein shake. You won't serve yourself by being in physical distress before your surgery. Everybody is terribly, terribly nervous before their surgery, and I was convinced that no one could have been more nervous than I was. I have a sneeking suspicous that everyone feels that way. Don't worry about your fill yet either. Most people don't have any issue with their fill. Most need a little tweeking, and I emphasize *little*, to get things just right. You will do just fine.
