Dani257969 0 Posted May 16, 2009 So yesterday was post-op day 9 and I was actually hungry when I woke up. I started drinking my 1000th Protein Drink and thought I am really hungry and I felt like I could tolerate a little solids. Plus since some people doctors were letting them move onto mushies by this point I thought it would be ok. I have a strict doctor and am on liquids for 2 weeks, pureed for 2 weeks and then soft foods for 2 weeks before my first fill. So I cooked myself up 2 scrambled eggs. I chewed every bite thoroughly. Almost immediately after eating it my stomach started hurting, then my back and my chest. I couldn't eat anything the rest of the day. I felt like food was stuck in my esophagus and in the back of my throat and had pressure in my chest, even when I went to bed last night. I am feeling really stupid right now. Maybe one egg would have been ok, but it really looked like a small amount. I hope that I didn't do any damage to anything. I guess I will follow doctors orders to the letter now. Kellster 1 Posted May 16, 2009 Hey Dani, well you live and you learn, right? I'm glad you didn't have any further complications like vomiting, etc. Just remember, our surgeons know best and have been doing this for years. Treat your stomach like a baby stomach, and remember the steps you have to take, liquid, pureed, mushy, and then soft/real food. I'd do liquids a bit more and then if you want more texture move on to pureed, but not right to mushy/soft yet. Just take it easy, you know you made a mistake, and you can certainly learn from it! Thank you also for sharing your experience and being honest, because it helps the rest of us learn too!
