Hey kids, I'm back and had to update the poo status (aren't you glad???).

I'm on mushy/soft food now and I'm happy to report that I am back on my at least 1/day poo schedule. I really think that the low-sodium V8 that I drink daily helps me feel more full, and helps me move that bowel. I ran out a couple days ago and it's been a bit harder than normal.

And I agree - total volume is way down. I keep waiting for more but nope! No bowl-fillers for me now.

I had that too, and then got my period out of nowhere for the 2nd time this month. It could also be gas. Your going to find that farting feels like your organs are being rearranged, and Burping is even worse!!!! My doc told me if I don't go at least once a day for 2 days in a row, 2 tablespoons of Milk of Magnesia (and that shit is NASTY- Sorry I couldn't abreviate it, had to use the full word). I had to take it thursday night, and it worked. No runs, but a good one. so just keep an eye on your area, b/c Like I said, I got my period, and I saw on a few other boards that other people have too within a few days of their surgery, my doc said it's b/c of abdomin trauma and diet changes.

That is sooo crazy because I started my period the day after surgery and I felt horrible for the next two days. When my period lightened up I felt good again.

I didn't go #2 for I think it was two days after surgery and then one morning I decided to drink a Protein shake and I had horrible diarrhea. The next day I had some SF Jello and again, horrible diarrhea. Yesterday was the first regular bowel movement I've had, and then today I ate some mushies and again I had diarrhea. I'm not sure what the deal is, but I'm getting real tired of running to the bathroom after I eat. My mom seems to think that instead of PBing I'm reacting the from the opposite direction. I just hope things thicken up and get back to normal soon!

My gyno said it's from trauma to your insides, and the release of the estrogen (thanks johnsonsnickers you were right!) with the fat burning. and dramatic weight loss in such a short period of time. It's actually quite common after any surgery to get a period, but if it happens again for a couple of months (getting it twice in one month) call your doc immediatly. the same goes for being a hormonal nightmare. SO LADIES!!!!!! Explain it to your DH, You can't control it! I've been fighting with mine for no reason for the past 3 days and he's just about had it. So try to keep your attitudes in check, It's difficult I know lol.. but, ya have to.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
