Dr. Robert Shin - Everything Went Well!

Recommended Posts

I 'm real pleased with Dr. Shin. I stayed in the hospital overnight (Women and Children's) and have had no major problems. It took me a long time to get approved (ended up changing insurances, which did the trick) but it was worth the wait. I'd recommend him to anyone.

Hi, all! I was just banded on 9/4/09 by Dr. Bali. Anyone want to chat soon? I would love to talk to some local people who have had this done.

Blessings to you all!

Missy

Congratulations!! I promise you will not regret your decision. I was banded by Dr. Nease in Huntington and really love it so far. Have had two fills so far and the only trouble I have had is getting my head to believe that I am not hungry. Would love to chat.

Dr. Shin was excellent i had surgery on 12/29/2010 i was admitted on 12/28/2010 due to a factoe 5 blood disorder and was released on 12/31/2010. dr shim was great but the camc general divsion hospital was terriable. They were suppose to get me up every 2 hrs to walk due to the fact i had a blood clot issue but that didnt happen. there was 2 nurses that did good jimmie and friday nurse. i would never choose this hospital for a place to have surgery. when my family wasnt there i did everything by my self including walking by my self. that God he took care of me. i was without toliet paper 28 hrs and wrang bell they would answer but no one came. i hope dr shiin reconsideres hospital because this one is bad

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
