Home brewed Iced Tea sweetened with Stevia instead of artificial sweeteners. I also buy the premixed tea when I am feeling lazy, Turkey Hill brand diet green tea with Gensing and Honey isn't too bad...their other diet teas are too strong or too sweet IMO.

I have also developed the habit of drinking hot tea. Pre-band I never drank Hot drinks but I find that a cup of hot tea 30 minutes after each meal seems to relax my stomach.

I have a glass of milk with sugar free carnation instant Breakfast ( I can't stand plain milk), a cup of hot tea-with no sugar, but mainly I drink plain Water sometimes with a slice of lemon or lime added. Oh, yes, and I drink a beer 3 to 4 nights a week after work.

I found Lipton makes individuals packets you can add to your Water - in a lot of different flavors - and they do NOT contain aspartame - they are made with splenda. HINT - I also find that one packet in 32 oz of water is plenty sweet enough. They are difficult to find sometimes -- Target is where I get mine and they are with the coffee/teas NOT where the Crystal Lite and other drinks are located. We really like them. Also, my GNC carries Protein packets you can addd to water - you get Protein, plus the flavors are good. I don't use any of it regularly as I am one of those weird ones that actually likes drinking water.

I like Water with a wedge of lemon or lime but for a change of pace I have been making homemade fruit waters. Just plop a handful of frozen mixed berries, cherries, peaches, etc into a pitcher of water and let it sit in the fridge. You can also add orange slices or whatever else suits your fancy. Nice change of pace and healthy as I hate artificial sweeteners, they give me headaches.:rolleyes2:

Once in a while I like Life Water - the 0-calorie fuji apple pear one. It is refreshing, a nice change sometimes.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
