Yes, I second that! Thanks Josie for posting it. I was thinking that the posts had been quiet and forgot that maybe it's because Sue was undergoing her very own procedure. Ms. Sue is my FAVE trikke rider and I can't wait to hear how your surgery went!

Hi Ladies:

I'm fine now. Surgery day was really tough because even though they did everything they could to prevent it, I still had issues with nausea! The slightest motion gave me the dry heaves. That was the worst pain at the top of my tummy where they tied the muscles together. Other than when heaving the pain isn't bad. I have one of those accufusers to provide instant numbing medicine over the abdominal wall stitches. I give that a pump just before I get up.

Friday was alot better than Thursday.

I just noticed that I'm like the michelin tire man. Rolls, rolls, rolls, and more roles. Yipes!

I was so happy when the doctor took the dressings off on Friday and I could actually see that I made it to the flatlands.

I'm gonna go lie down again. That's practically all I've been doing.

Thanks for sending your well wishes and asking for an update.

Sue

Update - 5 days post op

Feeling pretty good. I have a huge swelly belly though. One of the drains fell out, but it was draining very little, so I'm sure she'd be okay with that.

I'm going to try to go with just tylenol today and tonight with hopes that will be enough and then she'll let me drive again.

Have a great day everybody. Mine will be quite boring!

Josie:

I am doing great as far as Tummy Tuck goes. Energy is an issue for me too. I've decided that I have to continue napping and taking it easy. I walked 7 miles yesterday and I was suffering for it today.

My swelling isn't bad, but I'm still wearing the binder every day and some of the nights. I still get this crazy pain in my right side sometimes that wakes me up so I'm still having sleeping issues. I sometimes get up and put the binder back on because I think it's more comfortable in bed with the binder. The numbness is kind of crazy too. My belly button is almost healed.

Did you see the pics I put up? I'm very happy with the results so far.

You must be very excited - new body, new engagement!

Keep in touch and let us know when you have pics to share.

hey sue

where did you post your pics?

i took the before and can take after now.... i just dont know how to post them on this site. i'm so "technology challenged." i can post pics on Facebook, etc....but i dont know how to do it properly on here.

any suggestions?

i'm numb too but it is getting less so i'm feeling some more pain. not bad at all....just different. i can finally start sleeping on my side but need a pillow. the area where my boobs were stitched hurt if i pull to hard.

i'm like you...i like the binder. i definitely wear it in daytime but not at night.

my doctor said walking is key....so you are following his orders ha!!!

anyway let me know where your pics are. i will post mine as soon as i figure out how to size them correctly

Josie:

My pics are on the cosmetic surgery thread. They're titled something like from 2007 Post Op Lap Band to 2009 Post Op Tummy Tuck. I posted them at the end of May. You can see them on my profile page too.

I look forward to seeing your pics.

I love my band!

Hi All:

Just wanted to update. Tomorrow is 4 weeks postop. Feeling great!

Doctor said I still have to wear binder during awake hours to keep the swelling down. She can see that I'm still swollen, but I cannot see it.

I had a stitch popping through that she took care of with a little novacaine (sp?) and some instrument, piece of cake. She said I can swim in two days if that spot looks good that she just got the stitch from. Great - should be pool weather this weekend

She said I cannot do my favorite exercise yet. No, it's not what you were thinking - it's trikking. I really enjoy it so I've been missing it and don't expect to be able to do it again until July. Said I can do eliptical, walking, arm exercises, or leg exercises as long as they don't challenge my abdomen. I'll stick to walking for the next few weeks.

I am very pleased with the results so far. Well worth the pain, $$$, and inconvenience during recuperation period.

My energy level is almost where it used to be. Now I'm just a bit fatigued from being bored at home while I'm looking for a new job. Fingers crossed out there everyone - I need a job!

I love my band and my new flat tummy and small belly button!

Congrats Sue. I'm glad to hear that you're doing well. Exercise will make you feel so much better. I couldn't wait to get back to that. I felt so sluggish for sitting around for so long after my surgery. I am 6 weeks post op and I'm still wearing my Spanx 24/7. I find that I start to swell if I don't. The doctor told me I could take it off at night, but I'm still wearing it anyways. I do wear my binder when I'm exercising because it gives me more support.

I'm so happy for you. Thanks for posting the update.:)

hi sue

sounds like you are doing great.

my doctor said it takes 4 weeks to "feel like yourself". and i'll be darned...4 weeks to the day i felt like my ole self.

re: exercise...i guess it's time for us to get started again....it's so hard to start. it's much easier when i'm in a routine...

so i guess we need a routine again ha!

thanks for the update. glad you are doing well

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
