3rd Fill, Lots of Restriction - water is slow to go down

Recommended Posts

I apologize if this has already been asked, I wasn't able to find it.

I had my 3rd fill this morning and went from 6 cc to 7 cc and I definately feel more restriction when drinking Water than I did on my first 2 fills. I have only had the courage to drink water and crystal light so far. I'm nervous to try Soup or a Protein Shake. Everytime I take a sip of water it stays around for a little longer than normal.

My question/concern is: Is this restriction sweet spot restriction or am I too full?

I realize that I am still probably swollen from the adjustment, but I should be able to get water down no problem even with swelling right?

Thank you for any feedback :crying:

You will know more tomorrow, but my PA didn't let me leave the office when I told her I could feel the Water going down slowly. She gives cold water so you can definitely tell where the water is. She immediately pulled out half of the fill that she put in and it was just right. Try a Protein Shake in the morning and if you have problems with that, call and try to get some taken out. You definitely don't want to be that tight.

Thank you :crying: I just don't want to be melodramatic.

Would you say you hit your sweet spot at 2ccs?

Abby, I have been at 2ccs since November. I became a little tight after my hysterectomy in December and my wreck in February. I seem to be at my sweet spot. I am now only too tight during times of high stress, like now, the end of school. Other than that, I eat 1200-1500 calories per day and I am rarely ever hungry. So, I consider that my sweet spot. I hope it lasts.:crying:

I agree with Crzytchr! I'd give it 24 hours after your fill, though, so if you had any swelling or agitation it will have "gone down". When my doc gives me a fill he thinks will restrict me, in fact, he tells me to do liquids for 2 days before advancing to mushies. I felt the Water go down at first on the last one, but I felt I was also a little nervous/excited to be FINALLY having good restriction. By the next morning and my hot coffee, it went down fine.

So just use your judgment; being tense can also cause you to be tight. You have time to get some taken out before the weekend, if you need to! :)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
