Hi My name is Tiffany and im 29yoa and ive been reading several people blogs and viewing pictures ...to be honest this website has been more insightful than any other website out there...I have finally gotten my surgery date which is 6/4/09 im scared not of the surgey but of failure... im pretty sure there are several out there that can understand me...will this be another jenny craig, weight watchers,medifast,and/or cabbage Soup diet... Will I fail? Will i pretend to be full and satisfied around others like i was with other diets but when ever one leaves eat til im full or will it do what they claim it will do help with appetite suppression ...also i was wondering about exercise im 5'09"/380lbs and my knees along with back hurt so bad ....what kind of exercise can i do until i get down to a healthy weight so that i could move ....:crying:

Hey Tiffany!!!!! Congrats on getting your date! My date is 6/19! I was watching Dr. Oz today and he said if you can't do anything else just commit to walking 30 minutes per day! They showed someone he helped that lost soooo much weight doing that!!! You can do it girl!

Tiffany - It's normal to feel that way. I just got my date this morning - 6/5 (!!) and while I was crazy happy right then, the rest the day I've only gotten blue because it's now a reality. We June girls will stick together and succeed!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
