We have to do the pigtails, her hair is sooo curly that is it out of control with out either pigtails or a ponytail. She loves school and her teacher is really great.( she taught 3 of my 4 nieces) ~Mandy

Penni, thanks for resizing. ~M

Seems like yesterday she was still in a crib, now she is off making friends at school. She can't wait until it is her turn to do show and tell. She is a real ham, and also a real joker. My 7 year old niece came into the room and asked (very girlishly) "Who wants to see me do Ballet?" and my little one opened up her arms and said "nobody" it was really funny. She was nervous and didn't want to go, but we told her that the class frog (the classroom pet) was waiting for her. That changed her mind. ~Mandy

So adorable!! My older dd just started second grade (HOLY COW!!) and my younger is in pre-K also. It's a little sad--like their work has begun and they're joining the rat race. But I'm so proud of them both!!!

Mandy she is adorable!! As my little niece says " I'm in BIG school now". They are so cute at that age. Take lots of pictures. Go to all the parties! My sister teaches kindergarden and I go an read to her class on Fridays, the best Fridays of my life. Children are precious and loving. Honest too.(sometimes brutal but true)! Them pigtails are rockin'! LOL

*sigh* I know how you all feel. My 8 year old started 3rd grade this year and my 2 year old will be 3 in December...it just feels like yesterday I was carrying them. Today though my daughter almost made me cry, she came up and hugged me and said I looked like I had lost a bunch of weight. I just hugged the stuffing out of her and said I will be there soon! KIDS Rock!!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
