September's Verb

Tennis shoes are on but I was waiting for a little sun to come out. I see the darkness fading now, so off to the park then the rest of my sweaty routine. Peace.

Delarla, did you make it to the park? Hope so :)

I did get on the dreadmill yesterday, coughing and choking the entire time, so I didn't do much. I have a wicked cold. I did about 3/4 of a mile, not to shabby for this flabby.

How about you?

Exercise is like a dirty word to me, every time I say it I feel the need to wash my mouth out with chocolate :D

Gosh, I really feel lousy. Perhaps it's because I haven't exercised for several days now. Or, it could be all that microwave popcorn I've eaten in the past few days as I've sat on the couch instead of getting outside and moving my body.

Today is a new day though, and I'm determined to make it to the track! I'll let y'all know how I do.

Good Job Corrine :)

I did 20 minutes on the mill and cleaned the kitchen, living room, laundry, baked banana chocolate chip bread b/c I couldn't throw out those ripe bananas on my counter lol.

Does coughing your head off count ? lol

I made it to the park with the last post, and I made it again today! Thanks for getting my butt moving again! Inbetween walks, I never sat down all weekend till 8pm last night. I got a call from a Slumber Sister in need who couldn't do her party, so Friday after work I rushed home, loaded my truck, drove to the party location, unloaded my truck, stood on my feet doing my demo, then reloaded and unloaded and got home at 1:00 a.m. Saturday I cleaned like a crazy person, then yesterday I helped hubby shop for building materials for a fence I've been dreaming about. I burned a million calories over the weekend, then sat down with a Kingsize bag of candy like a FOOL. When I load my truck, I'm talking about it being packed full. My arms are getting buff!

Monday I jogged 1 mile non-stop, then continued walking for another 2 & 1/2 miles.

This morning I jogged 1 mile non-stop, then did a mixture of walking & jogging for another 2 & 1/2 miles.

I feel great!!!! Who knew that exercise would make me feel this good?

This morning I jogged 5 laps (1 & 1/4 mile) at the track, then I also walked 3 more laps and to and from the track, so that's a total of 2 & 1/2 miles for me. I am going to visit my inlaws in 5 more weeks, so I really want to lose as much as possible before I go. I've made it a goal to exercise every day and not make excuses! We'll see what happens......

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
