Absolutely!! The stomach is moving and churning constantly. That is why you can eat one kind of food and it is fine one day, and not on the very next day. Good luck!!

2ccs really isn't much restriction in the scheme of things but it can seem quite a bit at first. If you do feel too tight to eat, it can be one of several things. (1) Many of us have bands quite tight in the mornings and drinking something hot, like a cup of hot tea, helps trememdously. (2) You may have already had some saline in your band and you have a total of MORE than 2ccs and you could be closer to your sweet spot than you realize. (3) Some people lose fine with a minimal amount of fill for a good period of time. Keep the doctor's appointment on the books...that's nearly 2 months away and a lot can change in that length of time.

You say you sometimes feel full after just a few bites. Is this often or just occasionally? Are you positive you are taking small bites and chewing them well? And we are talking eating Protein, not stuff like mashed potatoes or rice or Pasta?

I you are having consistent problems eating more than a few bites, then call your doctor's office and ask them some questions .... like, was there saline already in your band when they did the 2cc fill? You aren't supposed to be miserable. You SHOULD be able to eat a 1/2 cup or food or even a bit more than that depending on your total amount of fill.

Ahhhh. Okay. You're one of the many in bandster hell. You don't yet have enough restriction to make it possible to truly be full after eating only a 1/2 cup of food. It takes time to get to your sweet spot, several fills. I was told to eat at least 20 grams of protein per meal (eat this first, about 3 ounces, which is about the size of a deck of cards), then eat raw or steamed vegetables (and at your restriction, you could eat more than you'll be able to eat later), and then you can have a small portion of whole grain carbs. If you get hungry between meals, eat protein...a 1/2 cup of low fat cottage cheese, an ounce of low-fat cheese -- sometimes if i've steamed shrimp, I'll eat 3 or 4 shrimp if I find myself starving. As you work up closer to your sweet spot, you will find that you need to rely less and less on the Protein Snacks.< /p>

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
