I just have to tell someone......

I was out today shopping for a new dress for a wedding. I went into Macy's and was looking at some dress when I see a dress I really like a lot. The colors where great looking on me but here is the biggest news that I just gotta tell some one. I tried on a 20 thinking this was the size I was in but nope so I went down to an 18 and this one was too big as well. So my mom got the same dress in an 16 and it fit! I just could not believe that a 16 actually fit me. I was so happy that I started to dance right in the dressing room. I have not seen this size since my youngest daughter was born in 1986. Yep that is right 1986 over 20 years ago. :tt2: I just had to tell someone else besides my mom and DH. He also said I am looking so good and keep it up.

OUTSTANDING!!!! My daughter took me shopping for MD and bought me a size 14 jeans. I haven't been a 14 anything since she was a baby and she was born in 1980!! I remember loosing after my youngest and being happy to get down to an 18. Great job and keep it going.

Saturday must have been the day for great shopping experiences! I went looking for something to wear to my 40th high school reunion...I mean, these people haven't seen me in 5 years so I wanted something to make a big splash. And, I found a fantastic outfit .... and it's an 18/20 as opposed to the 26 I would have been looking for. Went to Dress Barn and the sales clerk that helped me was absolutely the nicest person .... helped me pick something that made me look like I have more waist than I do. I was so happy with that outfit that I bought several outfits! And one of them is just a little too tight but for the first time in my life I went ahead and bought it KNOWING that in a couple of weeks it will be perfect. Dang, this feels great!

Congratulations!!!! That feels SOOO awesome doesn't it!??? Today, I pulled out three pairs of old jeans because the ones I've been wearing were too big (24s) and I was thrilled that the largest of the three (I tried those on first) F-I-T!! They're 20s. So I totally get how thrilling that is.

Gosh - can't wait til I'm in a 16 too!!!! Course, by then you'll be in like 12s or 10s at least! ..... lol.

Cheers to us all!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
