Need a fill in Colorado Springs..please help

Recommended Posts

I live in Anchorage, AK and the doctor who did my surgery has always had a hard time accessing my port so he always sent me to an imagining center to do my fills under fluro. But the only two doctors that did the band fills no longer work there and have gone to another imaging center that does not take my insurance (Tricare-West). That being said we are military and are moving to Colorado springs, I am going there on Sunday to look for a house and try to find a fill center where I can have a fill. My doc stuck me 14 times yesterday because I decided to give him another go at it because I didn't want to pay the 250 for the fill somewhere else..I have gained 20lbs since my last fill/unfill..such a long story, I have had many issues with the band. I am willing to find a center during my trip to colorado and pay if need be. Hopefully it will not be that much more than what they charge here in Anchorage.

Can anyone please help...I am also in desperate need of support...I was banded a year ago and have not been having very good success. My doctor said there is a very fine line with my fills, I either am too restricted to the point where I couldn't even swallow spit but they take such a small amount out and I have no restriction....I don't get it, it's very frustrating...I don't know, I am really bummed out about all this...I lost 45lbs then gained back 20 in 2mths....:)

Hey there!!

I live in Florissant. ( 45 minutes west of Colorado Springs.) I am not sure about Colorado Springs, but have an AWESOME doctor up in Denver. Dr. Kirshenbaum: 303-695-1304. He or his P.A have been terrific. He had the lowest cost and his fills are incrediblly low. ( at least for patients, unsure of how much for not, but shouldn't be bad.) I had surgery Jan. 9th 09 and as of today I've lost 71 pounds. Dieing to tel someone that I just hit it this a.m. Feel free to contact me with any questions at all. Hope your trip goes well- Good luck! God Bless!

I have had my fills done by Dr. Doru Georgescu in Thornton. I was going thru "Fills USA" but did not like there dr. this guy and his staff is great. the first fill is $265 I think, and then $75 a fill after that. There phone number is 303-452-0059. Good luck. Sue Holland

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
