I know there's a 10+ page on here that probably has everybody's name, but I am going to put another on here. I'm fairly new, and I'd like to know who on here is LDS.

I'm one!

I'm LDS, technically, although I've been inactive for several years. I'm pretty new here too. Not banded yet, my bad date is May 18. My name is Cheri. Good to meet you!

Yup, I'm LDS and about 2 hours south of you in Virginia. Only 2 people from church know I did this though! :ihih: I'd love to chat but don't want anyone we may know mutally to find out our connection!

RUkidding, RUkidding? I am very proud of being LDS and of having the band. I told my friends at church and now those who did not know are finding out cause they are saying how much I have lost. I have only lost 50 pounds so far but they are noticing. I guess I don't understand why you are worried about the "connection". Anyway, welcome to the thread!!!

 Of course I'm proud to be LDS. And I really don't have a problem with having had a band. However, I live in a very small community and go to an even smaller branch, it's just not anyone's business. Lots of nosey nelly's in this neck of the woods.

I'm just a private person.

btw, if I'm asked I would certainly tell the truth! This isn't something I'd lie about just not something I'm advertising.

I know what you mean, there are people like that here too. Ours is a small ward, and we have two wards and a branch here in Gilroy CA. Seems that some people need something to talk about! LOL I am just not one of those people who care if they talk about me. I have better things to do than worry about them. I understand what you are saying about being private. Sometimes it is not easy to have your life be your own. Best of luck to you. I am glad you found us here. BTW, I can't imagine a small ward in UT! It seems to me like there is a ward for every block. I think you are lucky to have so many around you, even if they want to talk about you. Would love to visit the area again myself, has been a long long time since we have been there.

I am also LDS and banded. I live in a small branch in nothern Michigan less then 50 active members. I have only told a few close friends that I have been banded as I did not want to be part of the branch gossip. I was just banded in April

I say who cares if they want to talk about you. It won't stop your weight loss and it sure won't stop your eternal progression! Be proud of who you are today and where you are going. You don't have to wear a badge that says you have a lap band, but if they ask, then I say tell them. I have only lost 51 pounds, but it is enough that people are noticing and one of my clients said he wished his girlfriend would loose too, so she later called me to ask me how I did it. I always say that if people have nothing better to talk about than me and my weight, well, we should feel sorry for them! LOL Good luck to all of you, let me know how you are doing on your weight loss.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
