Hi, I had lapband surgery on January 22, 2009. I am losing more inches than pounds any suggestions? My doctors office gave me a small list of foods to eat. I need to know more about what foods I can eat, I know what I can not eat. Thanks Ladythin

I was banded on 9/30/08

I've found I loose inches and then pounds.

I thought this was strange too but as far as I am concerned as long as I am loosing inches or pounds I'm doing great.

I know we put alot of emphesis on pounds but the inches are also impportant.

It's seems to be an ebb and flow for me as far as the inches and pounds are concerned.

I don't know why this is the way it is but this has been true for me.

Make sure you're getting good nutrition and exercising and I'm sure you'll find this will always even out.

Good luck:thumbup:

Thanks so much for the encouragement, I really needed it. I went on the internet last night and I was reading that the when you lose inches the body is restructing. that was good to hear. I haven't been exercising that could be another factor.

Take care and hope I hear from you again.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
