zukagirl22 1 Posted May 6, 2009 I had to do 3 months or preop diet, psych eval, swallow test, and meet with the doctors before i could submit any paperwork to the insurance company. When i got approved then they did all my blood work and ekg. yeah...long process but so worth it!!!!!! :cool2:
RestlessMonkey 7 Posted May 6, 2009 I had: abdominal ultrasound, chest x-ray, upper GI test, ecg, tons of blood work, nut and psych consults, and meeting w/surgeon. It was all done in 2 different appts; fast and easy.

ParrotheadCathy 0 Posted May 6, 2009 I had an EKG, an echocardiogram, a stress test, an upper GI, chest xray, and sleep study. Because I was self-pay I did not have to do the psych eval. or visit the nutritionist. Much of this is pretty standard to make sure you are physically healthy enough for surgery. The psych. eval is to make sure you don't have body dysmorphia or unreasonable expectations about life change (i.e., there are a lot of people for whom obesity is just the tip of the iceberg and losing weight will NOT remedy everything that could be wrong in your life). Buckcreek 0 Posted May 6, 2009 Just got a call from the Dr. office, seems that my stress test came back abnormal and my blood work showed some problems. I thought i was perfectly healthy. except high blood pressure and cholesterol. I have had back surgery. nothing showed up on stress test then i hope its just a mistake.
