You slept alot, oh am I jealous. I cleaned like a mad person Saturday b/c my DH's aunt was visiting us from Hawaii on Sunday. They came, they saw, they ate, they made a mess and I didn't get done cleaning until 8:30 last night LOL. All in all it was a good visit. I hated for her to see me because I am 90 lbs heavier than the last time she saw me. I felt like the stay puff guy next to her....lordy.

This morning while I was driving to work I glanced in the rear view mirror and I didn't know what I saw. I saw the face of an old hag. A fat old hag. And it was staring back at me. Good LORD, it was me, puffy face and all. My eyes filled up with Water and I thought to myself, what the hell did I do to myself. What the hell did I do!!!! I didn't recognize this person.

All I know is, I feel very ashamed of myself today (well most days but especially today), and no, its not that time of the month LOL.

Maybe I need to go shopping :) :) jk

Oh, it's those "Hag" days that make me know that the band is the right thing. Just think - soon, the scale will begin to tip in the right direction...

And, I am a firm believer in Shopping Therapy. (so long as it isn't at the grocery store!)

The sleeping is the best benefit to having a House-Spouse. It makes me all grouchy to have to get up and go to work every day - while he is still sleeping! - but it feels great to go home on the weekends and not have to do anything except relax.

Shame sucks. Just try to think positive thoughts about how you are taking action.

Well Good Morning FRIENDS :)

Its a beautiful HOT day here in Joisey, they are saying the temps are hitting a high of 90 but will feel like 98. I'LL TAKE IT!! Even though I sweat like a pig, it sure beats snow.

Beanie, your right SHAME SUCKS !!! I'm feeling better today :D not so much in the dumps as yesterday. I got up this morning, brushed my knee's off and said, dang gum it!! I'm gonna be happy today........(ssssssssheat it really works).

Got on the dreadmill and ate pretty good yesterday (meaning healthy). I had Soup and salad for lunch, then for dinner a 3 oz burger (that I made thank you!). I did not touch the chocolate covered mac nuts my DH's aunt brought here from hawaii :D

So how is everyone today?

Congrats Eileen for getting on that treadmill!! I have one but I am afraid to get on it because I am over the weight limit by 20lbs. Excuses, excuses, but

I would be mortified if the damn thing started smoking because of my big a$$.

School is starting tomorrow for my oldest dd - 3rd grade and then my youngest dd starts preschool on thursday :Bunny I can't believe I am actually going to have 5 hours per week to myself!!Whoo-hoo!

Well thats it for today

Good Wednesday Morning ;)

How is everyone today ?

Lisa, when your ready to hit the treadmill, you'll know it. My sister who is also overweight would go on my Mom's treadmill and you can hear the motor straining, so yes, I would wait if you feel that it would be a strain on the machine. I think mine is rated for 300. I do know they make them for more weight than 300. I'm glad you are planning on getting on it though.

Well today I'm sneaking out of work for an early lunch to have my hair done :D (hey, ya gotta do what you gotta do) :) This weekend I am meeting a bunch of ladies I met from another site (I've met them b/4, but its been 2 years) so I wanna look presentable LOL. Can't wait :D

Beanie, Ira, Ray, Lisa and everyone who reads this.... whazzzzzzzzzzzzup?

Just another glorious day in Mortgage Lending. I am in a total Waiting mode. Waiting on Insurance Review (they lost the package and we had to re-send it) and waiting on my job.

I have absolutely nothing to do at work right now because we are overstaffed in my dept. My friend recently came back from a remote assignment in Chicago and had talked about taking a position of Credit Manager and transferring me to his dept - but he took a different position. So, now I have to wait for someone else to step into the Credit Manager spot so I can apply for a Credit Specialist position.

Waiting. hmmmmn. La dee da dee da. zzzzzzz *hmph*. wait, wait wait waiting.....

Thank God for LBT or I would be bored out of my already insane little mind.

One of the things I have been doing while I wait is to test Protein powders. I have never been able to face food in the morning, so I have always been a liquid Breakfast kind of gal.

I have tried Ultramet - which isn't too bad (42g protein) and something called Perfect RX - which is moderately yucky (37g protein). Atkins & Carb solutions are both pretty good - but they only have 20g Protein per serving. I mix mine with coffee and doctor them the same way I would my coffee - sweetener & half-n-half. My own little Protein Latte.

Ira - how is the scale treating you? Has it suffered any mysterious "accidents"? Have you had your anniversary dinner, yet?

Lisa - now that DD is going to be in school - you can just crank up the tunes and dance in the living room until that pesky 20lb is gone. Then you can hop on the treadmill. :]

Hope everybody is having a great day!

Irene

Beanie, LET ME ENTERTAIN YOU, LET ME MAKE YOU SMILE...LA LA LA LA ;)

The same dang thing happened to my friend here at work. The insurance company said they never received her medical packet **BULL KAKA** because they sent it certified/registered and they have the signature of the fool who signed for it. I think its all a bunch of crap that they play on people. Keep on top of them. My friend had the doctors office call them up and chew them out. Finally they gave in and gave the doctors office the fax # and they faxed it over. So now she is just waiting like you (and me :) ). Beanie, give me your email addy, I'll send you some warped emails/jokes (no not porn, sorry lol snort ~).

Penni Penni Penni...YOU TALKIN TO ME (((joisey accent)))! Ahhh don't hate me cause I'm perky (in spirit that is, because there ain't nuthin perky on my body, thank you!).

There's only one thing that puts me is a pissy mood in the morning and thats if its to hot to sleep and I wake up sweating LOLOL, I'm like a bear growllllllllll. I hate to sweat :D Other than that, I am a morning person, but come 4 PM, I drop like a fly. Guess thats what happens when you get OLD :D What is a Raja's cup ? I'm guessing coffee. I LUV coffee, I have about 6 cups a day, some times more... yeah so? But its gotta be flavored. The flavor I'm drinking this week is Cinnamon Pecan..... My favorites are Graham Cracker, Hazelnut and vanilla.

Well my hair is done :D I'm ready to go home now... (don't I wish).

Ira? Oh, Ira? Where are you? Don't you LIKE us anymore?

Mornin' Eileen. I am thinking that the 6 cups of coffee a day MAY be contributing to your excessive energy in the morning. If not that, then the going to bed at 8pm COULD account for it.

Geez, Girl! What time do you get UP in the morning?

I usually don't even get home until 8pm. Just call me a night owl...

:]

Rene, thanks for reminding me to return here. It turns out the tickets to the show that I wanted to go to were not available until the October 2nd, so the dinner was postponed. But on the bright side, this year it was made clear to my wife that I remembered our anniversary without all sorts of subtle hints. There is a new Greek/Turkish restaurant in town so I think we are going to try that. It should work out becuase you can always count on a Kabob to taste just as good tomorrow, and the day after. Spinach pie holds up well and makes a healthy Breakfast also.

I had my consult (ahem) at gym. The idea was that they were going to help me develop a more structured exercise program. Well, 45 minutes later I came out with startling new information... GUESS WHAT, according to their sophisticated computer calculations, I am out of shape and get this, I am overweight! Now mind you, this revelation came out after I filled out a 4 page health question form, and like the simple person that I am, actually told the truth about previous hypertension, obesity, and the Lap-Band surgery.

So with fitness dude looking like he needed more information, I decided to do my own seminar on all the aspects of the Lap-Band including a comparison to Gastric Bypass. I think my presentation was quite comprehensive, but I know could do better if I had Power Point or Slides.

Armed with all this information, my fitness consultant promptly handed me a MEDICAL RELEASE form for my doc to sign! I guess I should also bring in the films from my pre-surgery Nuclear imaging and Angiogram. I understand that lack of understanding and legal concerns trigger this response, but come on, I have been going there 6 days a week, 40 minutes a day for 2 and half months. Is the program they are going to put together that much more UNSAFE than what I have been doing?

OK, one final insult, he measured my body fat using a set of calipers. I know I am into technology, but come on, a caliper? Didn't Christopher Columbus use these to identify morbidly obese crewmembers when he made is first trip to Jersey City NJ in the mid 1400's? Whatever, at any rate, the body fat readings and ideal body weight prediction did not match up at all to what the doctor's $1,800.00 body composition analyzer said. However, we did all agree on my current weight. All this consulting really wore me out, so I had to skip my workout that day.

{ RANT COMPLETED, I will be seeking help for my problem with excessive sarcasm }

I go for my first fill in 4 hours from this writing. I am excited and a little nervous. I know what to expect in general, but I am just anxious about how my anatomy will react. But I'm sure it will be fine. The timing is perfect because I have only lost 2 1/2 pounds since the last visit, so it is time.

Penni, where did you find Raja's Cup? In the coffee aisle or ethnic foods? I don't know if we have that product around here. I love Indian foods and beverages; I would really like to try it. My Inamed stock has been dropping over the last few days. A nice relaxing Indian coffee is just what I need.

Oh, Ira...

I am laughing soooooo hard right now. I love your sarcasm. Feel free to rant any time.

Oh my goodness! You're overweight? What a shock it must have been to hear this tragic news... But did the darling dude turn green when you talked about bypass vs band - or did he go red?

Oh well. MAYBE their program will be more beneficial than your own efforts...

Good luck on the fill. Let us know how that turns out for you - and don't be a stranger.

Eileen - how the heck are you? Did you get my return e-mail yesterday? Have you had your 5th cup of coffee, yet?

Lisa - how you doing now that the kids are back in school?

Everybody have a great day!

Irene

Hi I, it's I, don't forget I is in the Catskills this weekend.

Sorry I couldn't resist.

I had my first fill, yesterday. It was grossly uneventful. No pain, nothing to it. But like magic, I was suddenly feeling just like after the surgery. No hunger, no desire to eat or drink. My drinks are going down nicely but I can feel it's slower than normal. They don't want me to eat anything until Monday, so I guess I will have a nice weight loss just from this weekend.

We are going to see Sesame Street Live at the arena today. That should be fun, we went last year and it was great. Now that Zach is 3 he will understand and enjoy even more.

When we go food shopping this weekend I will be looking for Raja's Cup. I'm On on a mission now.

Delarla's request for pictures in the avatars is great!

Good Morning :)

Sorry I haven't responded lately. Thursday I got a call from my sister (while I was at work) and she was sick, so sick she wanted to driver herself to the hospital. I told her to wait I would rush home to take her. So I did. Ivan she's at Hackensack. Anyway, all day thursday in ER to discover she has Diverticulitus and possibly perforated intestins so they might do surgery. They will do a CAT scan again in a day or two to make their final call.

Yesterday was a fiasco. I was running like a mad woman between getting her kids, my DD ready and to school, then food shopping b/c there was nothing in her house for the kids and my mom who lives with her for the weekend. My sister is a single mom of 4 kids. Anyway between the schools, shopping, banking, and running like a nut back and forth to the hospital I was exhausted (still am). I got home at 8 pm last night and crashed. I have to run the kids back to hackensack today to visit their mom.

Beanie sorry I didn't answer you. BTW I get up at 4:30 am :D

Ira, your health club visit sounded like FUN !! NOT Don'tcha love it when an overweight person knows more about being healthy than a "fit/healthy" person LOLOL You should have bit him on the leg :D

I'm glad your fill went well :D Did the doc do it himself?

Penni I've never had that kind of coffee. The coffee I'm drinking today is called Graham Cracker (flavor) I get it at Krausers and boy is it goooooooood !!!!!!!!!

My carpal is acting up so I'm gonna read and surf a bit... TTYL

HUGS

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
