Tight in the morning

Recommended Posts

Well, I knew there was a reason I needed to take the time to come on this forum. I only started to notice lately that I have a hard time eating in the morning. I am often hungry in the morning depending on what I ate the night before. I am going to have my second fill on Saturday.

I wanted this second fill so badly and now I am sorry. I am so tight in the morning, and if I eat anything in the morning I am in trouble all day long. after having a small piece of zucchinni bread after a morning cup of tea I knew I made a mistake. I have been throwing up all day today even water.... I will be calling the doctor first thing in the morning.

The same thing happens to me. I am very tight in the morning and just have a cup of coffee. I used to try and eat but I will stay stuck by the time I get to work and it is so uncomfortable. Now I know that I will not be able to eat anything until after 2:00 p.m.

Mine is very bad in the morning. I can barely drink Water and I've gotten sick on milk. My friend suggested it may have something to do with being horizontal at night and vertical during the day. I'm starting to think that has something to do with it because I was sick one day about a week ago and took a three hour nap - dinner was then impossible. I don't know exactly what the band looks like but could it smoosh a little while we are lying down? I know I wasn't dehydrated because I'm very careful with that part.

I'm to the point where I'm very tight in the mornings. I usually have Carnation Instant Breakfast. That way i at least get some good Protein in. By lunchtime I can eat food but I get full pretty fast and then by dinnertime I can eat alot more.

for those with bands too tight in the morning, as soon as your feet hits the floor start drinking Water. Might take a couple of glasses but it will help and also thin out the mucus. This is what I was told to do and it works.

I was told warm/hot tea helps alleviate the tightness in throat in the morning. If nothing else, it sure feels soothing.

I am definitely tighter in the morning and looser at night. I usually have a cup of milk and a big glass of Water in the morning. I get hungrier around 11:00 and then have lunch. I am good until around 5:00 and then I get really hungry. This is not good because I am looser and can eat a lot more. I have lost between 75 and 80 pounds in 18 months and have not even come close to gaining any weight back, but my weight loss has really slowed. I really want to lose the rest of the weight so I am going to get a fill tomorrow and just accept the fact that I am going to be pretty tight in the morning. I have 5.5 in my 10 band and I am hoping 6 will be the magic number. I just need more restriction at night!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
