Questions about lap band in kansas

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone. My name is Julie. I am new to the forum. I am trying to find some help on how to get the lap band done if you don't have insurance or good credit. I have been overweight my whole life. I have tried everything, and nothing works. I am 100 lbs overweight, and I have no energy, lots of pain, and I am missing out on my kids lives because I "just don't feel good".

I have looked around and only found credit options. Well my ex fixed all of that for me. He ruined my credit, and is now decesased. I can't do much about it. I have tried to pay off the items, or get them removed. However, at this point I am self-employed since, and don't make a lot of money.

I thought others might know of some options that the Kansas doctors had. Any help would be wonderful.

Thank you,

Julie

Julie. I don't know how things are for you now but I would recommend Dr. Kirshenbaum in Co.

www.lapbandrockies.com

He accepts self pay only and his price (unless it has changed in the last month or so) is only $9950.

I went through www.surgeryloans.com

I don't know with bad credit how it is at the least the price is less than most and he is the BEST. I love him and it is worth the 7 hour drive for me. His fills are only $15 after the first 3 months so it costs less to drive there, spend the night and come back than it does to get a fill in Wichita (which is very close to me.)

Good luck. I love my band!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
