ONEderland close, plateau's and YEE HAA!

Recommended Posts

I just got on the scale this morning and am shocked. I started this last year at 272, when I had the surgery on December 30th, 2008 I was 261 and now this morning I am 209. In all honesty I never thought I'd ever see 209 again in my life.

For me to think that the One Hundreds are only 10lbs away is shocking to me.

Yes, maybe I am being dramatic but its so HUGE to me that I had to share it.

I never thought my goal of 160 was really possible but now that I am half way there I have a bit of hope that it is really something that I can achieve.

I LOVE MY BAND.

Oh, and I broke my plateau by EATING more! Its just what my body needed. Our bariatric office advice of 800-1000 calories a day is for the birds....lol

Anyway, just wanted to share.

Congrats! That is awesome weight loss.

So, in your case, to break the plateau you ate more?

I get anywhere from 700 to 1100 calories a day, depending of a lot of factors.

I am still losing, banded March 5, 2009, but am

afraid of going into starvation mode.

Guess I need to make an appointment with a nut or dietitian. I was never required to do so, but I think I shall. I started at 265 on surgery date and weight 228 today. First consult date,

Jan. 14, I weighed 280.

Again, Congrats!

Oh, thank you all so much for the kind words. I just had to share my happiness and knew this was the place to do it!

I have had some issues and apparently I am a slow learner b/c I have PB'd a lot but now I am getting better at just looking at something and knowing if it will be ok. Although sometimes I am still wrong or my band likes to play games with me... Thank goodness, with the exception of one time, I was always at home when I had a problem. It has always been that I ate too much or that I ate something like bread. That will do it.

To ahb08, I had gained and lost the same 2lbs for 3 weeks and was so frustrated. I spoke to the nutritionist and she said I was eating too much? Eating too much? hhmmmm

I remembered that Wendie plan from WW and how she changes up her points to be some days really high and other days lower and that's what worked. I also read on Calorie Count that once you lose 10-20% of your body weight your body stops losing weight and rests a while. That made me feel better and since I had been in starvation mode for those weeks I just started eating more and low and behold 4lbs came off. If you start so low where do you have to go after that? I would have been like 800 calories? TO ME, and I am no expert or Dr. that is way too low.

I also read that women shouldn't go below 1200 b/c it is unhealthy. I believe that. But this is what worked for me, for now.

Believe me I'm not foolish enough to think that I wont be on here again crying about my newest plateau...but at least I'll get support again! lol

Thanks guys, for caring.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
