Anyone banded April 28?

Recommended Posts

Hello, I was banded on April 28 and wondered if anyone else was. I still have some of the gas pains, but otherwise not doing too bad. I am having trouble getting all of the food in that I am supposed to. :)

I was banded on the 28th and have had lots of neck/shoulder pain. I was told that it's deferred pain but jeez. I am just getting my Protein and liquid ozs in per the drs. order.

Trying to figure out what to do about this neck/shoulder pain. Anybody got a clue? :)

I have had lots of shoulder and neck pain also. It's from the gas used to inflate your belly during surgery. I sure hope it goes away soon. I have some pain meds from the hospital to take, but I don't like taking it. I also have terrible diariah--I hope that goes away soon too.

Good luck to you. Keep in touch.:)

Hey I was banded also on the 28th. I had major gas pains the first two days and diarreah is leveling off. I too have the neck and shoulder pain. The other problem I am having is the ability to burp. I called the Dr and they told me to sip on a Sprite but that did not do it for me. I am still taking Gas-x just to give myself some relief but I would kill to burp right now. Any body got any ideas?

As far as eating, I struggle to get all my liquids in because I am just not hungary.

My diet has consisted of Soup broth, sf pudding, sf popsicles, crystal light, and Protein shakes.

I hope everyone else is hanging in there....I hear tell that things get better.

:thumbup:Banded 9am 4/28. No pain meds in hospital or since.:). Had scrambled eggs this am/no problem. Everything went well as per Dr. First post-op check 5/7, Hope I'll be cleared to start a more aggressive mushie diet. Lost 8lbs in 4 days so far. Hope I can keep up the pace, but I know it will slow down soon.

I am glad to see I am having the same symptoms that everyone else is having. I have had several burps. I don't know what brings them on. If I could get my darn shoulder to stop hurting that would help a lot! I have been having cream of wheat, thin mashed potatoes, yogurt and pudding. I try mixing my Protein Powder with almost all of it so I can get most of that in. I don't think I'm ready for scrambled eggs yet! Does sound good though.

I was done at 8am on 28th April, and had a couple of bad days, referred pain, gas, nausea and feeling faint. was only managing about 200 calories, so once that sorted, feeling better. I had to lose 30kgs before lap-band would be scheduled, I lost another 5 and now, have lost 4kgs since surgery. It's Day 5... and I am going out with friends, and while I am in liquid stage, I will feel so delighted to have banana smoothie. Guess that will be a 'half'!

I was banded on the 29th. I am getting better as each day passes along. I am still having problems with gas bubbles in my back. I have to start drinking more liquids. I am surprised some of you are able to eat reg foods..I am on liquids and trying hard to keep that in my system.

I spent a nice time with friends, we usually socialise around food, Sunday morning Breakfast was a banana smoothie, although liquid, I felt satisfied. I had read where someone had eaten runny scrambled eggs already, but really don't want to do anything other than doctors instructions: liquids in the same texture as the shakes that I have been on. I have been having broths, and liquidated Soups.. runny yoghurt.. I cannot see how runny eggs can be the required consistency that can be drunk through a normal straw, I think that is the guide. I did have some jelly and custard last night, that went down okay.

Mind you, there was a strawberry with my drink today, and so I tried chewing it till liquid, drizzled down my throat, but I am terrified of getting food stuck..

There was a lot of different food around, I was curious about what people were eating, but I didn't feel deprived at all.

Does anybody know where we can get recipes for a pureed menu? I have been searching the NET but haven't found a lot out there. Based on my drs. guidelines...I will be on liquid for 10 days then moved to STAGE II (mushy food). So...I am trying to prepare for that this coming Friday. Headed to grocery store this afternoon if anyone has any suggestions.

Hello Everyone! I have to be on semi-liquid for 2 weeks, which isn't until May 12th! Then I can start pureed food for 2 weeks. Funny how all doctors are different on what to eat. It is hard to come up with different things to eat. I like the smoothie idea and then adding Protein powder to it. I have trouble getting in all of my protein. I really like everyone sharing their food ideas. It all helps all of us. Everyone have a good week. I'm going to try to go back to work tomorrow. I'm thinking just a half day--I have a desk job, so hopefully I can handle it. I haven't told my co-workers about what kind of surgery I had, so I'm not sure whats going to happen.

Banded on April 28th around Noon. I had some pains but mostly gas. Last night (10 days post op) I had the worse pain ever. I couldn't get it to stop and vommited X2. Today I feel better just really sore and tired. I am also finding it hard to get my Protein in. I have been drinking water/tea, yogurt, Jello, and applesause. I have not been able to take a Protein shake yet. Down 16 pounds since surgery and I am excited for what is to come. I have to admit I am worried that I will gain weight with the mushie stage but I am so looking forward to mashed potatoes!!

I hope everyone is going well!!

I was banded on 4/28 also. My Gas pain went away after 2 days. I was on the liquid diest for 4days after surgery and then called my doctor and told I had to eat something else cause I was so weak and was so light headed. He said that I could go to the mushie stage...well me and the wife went to San Francisco yesterday and it was hard because I really couldnt eat and we headed home late so we stoped and ate somewhere and it was hard to find something that I could eat. The best thing I could find was Grilled chicken with Vegetables. I ate the Chicken Breast(about the size of a deck of cards) and maybe a bite or two of veggies and I was full. I feel guilty but OH WAS IT GOOD!

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
