Has any one been here? I am going for a consult on the 6/22 and I am doing a triple play since I am going to be coming from out of Town, I am seeing the Nurse, The Psych and the Surgeron all in one day. (Alana Chock)

I am anxious and trying not to think to much ahead but it is so hard.

They said that I shouldn't have a problem getting accepted as they rarely turn a patient away.

I guess I need to quit reading all the post about denials and hope for the best!

I went to one of their seminars when they came to Port Angeles. They seemed very professional and knowledgable and I would have had my surgery by them, but they are not a "prefered provider" to my insurance. Insurance would have participated, but not paid as much. If you don't have that problem or are self-pay, I think they would be a good choice. All the office personnel are banded, so they have been where you will be. Good luck.

Hi. Just wanted to let you know that I am having surgery with NWWLS day after tomorrow. I originally had surgery in mexico July 2007. Since that time my band slipped. I am scheduled to have revision surgery the morning of 5/20/09. I will totally let you know my thoughts. I have Dr. Michaelson. So far he seems really great. I think NWWLS seems like a great and supportive team so far. But before revision surgery I have already lost 78 lbs. I would like to loose 14 lbs more, but everyone says I look fine at this weight. :purplebananna:

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
