Any Bunnies working out??

Recommended Posts

Still haven't made it to the gym. But I have been walking 1 mile each way from work/train. Plus did a bunch of yardwork this weekend. I'm paying the proce today with a very sore knee. I pray losing weight helps with arthritis. I like being active.

Walking every day, trying to do a mile every day with DVD and some light weights for arms. Seeing Dr for first visit after surgery. 11 days post op and have lost 13 lbs.

Before surgery I was walking 1/2 hr before work, will get back to that shortly. MiMi

Up until now, not much except some walking. I started working in the yard this weekend and overdid it a little (it's hard to bend to weed, plant, etc. with the port area still swollen...I'm afraid of flipping it).

Today is my post-op appt. so I should be cleared for the treadmill and starting to workout on my new Wii Fit.

Had my 2 week post op appt on Tues and the doc gave me the go ahead to return to the gym. He told me very light lifting only and I could do cardio but not to use any incline/resistance. I went straight from my doc's to the gym and did 60 mins on the elipiitcal on resitance/incline 1/1. Went again today. Didn't go Wed or Thurs since I worked 12 hour days and I have a job that keeps me on my feet all the time. I'm definitely happy to be back at the gym. I missed it there.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
