Vangel, that is great, I know how you feel about being excited and scared, thats me. I actually tried to talk to my sister about the surgery today and the minute I mentioned Mexico, she didnt want to hear anymore. If it werent for you and the others on the forum, I would be so alone in this. I am looking forward to the phone call. I will have my lap top with me at the hospital and 2 different cell phones, I figure I will have something to do.

Six weeks seems like a long time, I hope it flies by for us

Honestly, I have no complaints. I was treated like royalty there.

They said they called my daughter and left her a message on her phone. She says she never did get a message and checked her voice mail. Maybe they dialed the wrong number and didn't notice because it's not her voice on the voice. It's only of those recorded voices that said "you have reached the voice mail box for

541-xxx-xxxx Maybe they just didn't notice that it was not the number I gave them.

It all worked out fine. Once we figured out that my daughter could call my cell phone and she was not charged international rates, she called me all the time. I could not call out.

I am glad to be home. I will be even happier when I advance to full liquids.

I don't seem to have the trouble that Susan and Elizabeth had with getting the liquids in. I have the opposite problem. I want to guzzle all the liquids I can get my hands on. I have to stop myself and remember what it says in the papers they give you . "No more than

2oz at a time"

I stopped on the way home from the airport and it took me an hour to drink a bottle of Isopure, but I could have easily guzzled the whole bottle right down. I have to force myself to sip, stop, and wait.

Due to my banding "issues" I came to know Nina pretty well over the last 2 years. ;o) So I called Nina yesterday and gave her a "heads up" regarding their system, too many people are complaining that family members are not being notified. That's just not fair to family members.

She has a computer print out of all phone numbers dialed and she looked up both you and Elisabeth. Your daughter was called at the correct phone number at 1:11PM and she did not pick up, so Maricela left a message. Elisabeth's sister was not called at all. Nina agreed that they would have to come up with a better system. No clue what they will start doing but she acknowledges they have to change things. It really isn't fair if a family member is waiting to hear about someone getting out of surgery and they are left wondering what is going on.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
