8 hrs until surgery time!!!!

Recommended Posts

I have 8 hours to go before surgery -

and I can't sleep and I am thinking that I need to pack to many things "just in case".

Geeze - my husband says pack your CPAP, magazines, IPOD, hygiene stuff and that is it!

Is he right?

Yes, he is. If you are not staying overnight no need to pack much. You are going to be sore and groggy. I only had the clothes on my back, meds, insurance card and that was it. I did not stay overnight though good luck

Good luck with your surgery! I'm right behind you, mine is on May 14th. Let us know how you're doing

You won't need much at all - you won't read as you will be too groggy.. take an Ipod, clean clothes to wear home (if you are staying o/night) any medical stuff you need - otherwise you will be sweet!

My date is the 14th also. I'm just taking a change of clothes to the hospital.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
